Description
The DA220 Signal Transmitter applies a distinct signal onto buried services, enabling them to be traced and identified by a Cable Avoidance Tool Service Locator. The output signal from the transmitter can be applied to the service in two ways:
Induction Mode
The transmitter can apply an industry standard 8kHz or 33kHz signal to a service cable without the need to make a physical connection. An internal aerial transfers the signal to any conductive service in close proximity to the transmitter.
Connection Mode
This is the most efficient way of applying a signal to a conductive service, such as a cable or metal pipe. The signal frequency can be set to either 8kHz or 33kHz, which will be detected by the Leica DD120 cable avoidance tool and other most industry standard locators.
